A Little Preview

What We’ll Explore Together

We’ll spend the morning learning with the horses at Iron Giants. Together, we’ll practice noticing everyday patterns, explore vital signs and body condition, discuss hoof health, and learn what information helps when it’s time to call your veterinarian. We’ll also introduce Raindrop for Horses and observe the horse’s response.

1  Know Your Horse’s Normal
2  Explore Vital Signs
3  Observe Body Condition
4  Look at Hooves & Conformation
5  Know What to Tell Your Vet
6  Discover Raindrop for Horses

Something to Notice Before We Meet

If you spend time around a horse before the workshop, take a few quiet minutes to observe. Notice the ears, eyes, breathing, posture, and movement. What seems typical for that horse? What questions come to mind? Jot down anything you’d like to explore—we’ll build on those observations together.

Take the Learning Back to Your Barn

You’ll receive printed handouts during the workshop, including:

  • Normal hoof and horse conformation handouts
  • Horse Body Condition Tracking Sheet
  • Horse Body Condition Guide and Tracking Sheet
  • Horse Vital Signs and Exam, including hoof parts and labeling

The day after the workshop, watch your inbox for a thank-you message with links to download the full-color Do You Know Your Horse’s Normal? and Raindrop for Horses guides.

“Know the pattern. Notice the change. Connect the dots.”

Every horse gives us clues. During our morning together, we’ll slow down, look at the whole horse, and practice noticing the details that help us understand what’s normal and recognize when something changes. We’ll also explore Raindrop for Horses and observe the horse’s response.

Thank you for joining us, supporting Iron Giants and the horses in their care, and bringing your curiosity to this hands-on workshop. I look forward to sharing the morning with you!

Warmly,
Dr. Lynne Wimmer
